Soup and Speaker Series Helps Adults with Older Parents

Area residents are invited to free soup and speaker seminars to help adult children with aging parents at 5:30 p.m. Tuesdays, March 23 to April 27 at The Pointe at Sunrise at Sunrise Retirement Community.

Following a complimentary soup and sandwich dinner, presentations will be held from 6 to 7:30 p.m. and include time for questions and answers. The public is invited.

The March seminars, dates and speakers will be March 23: Keeping Your Parents Independent, Sunrise experts Beverly Zenor, executive director, and Alan Bruinsma, administrator; and March 30: When is the Best Time to Move, Mark Vos of United Reality, Tom Claeys of Claeys Bros. Moving & Storage Co. and Roger and Glendy Nichols, a recent senior movers.

The April seminars will be April 6: Making Sense of Legal Issues, John Anderson, attorney; April 13: Medications and Medical Concerns, Don Drilling, Drilling Pharmacy; April 20: Spiritual Aspects of Aging, Jon Moravec, Sunrise chaplain and April 27: Future Trends for Senior Living, Bob Ogle, president of Senior Life Consulting.

The free seminars will be held at The Pointe at Sunrise at 36 Eastview Drive on the Sunrise campus at 5501 Gordon Drive. Persons should make reservations with Char Hesse at The Pointe at 712-212-5468.
