Sunrise Elects New Board Officers

Sunrise Retirement Community has announced its officers and board of directors for 2010-2011. Sunrise Retirement Community elected Larry Book, Book Enterprises president of its board of directors at its recent annual meeting.

Other newly elected officers are: Tom Grimsley, CW Suter, vice president, Richard Keith, RBC Wealth Mgmt., secretary and community volunteer Donald Kelsey, treasurer. John Anderson of Corbett Anderson Corbett& Vellinga LLP, Corbett is legal advisor for Sunrise.

Other board members are Howard Logan, First Trust and Savings Bank of Moville, Dr. Barbara Condon, Briar Cliff University, Michael Gunsch, Younglove Const., Dr. Mary Kovarna, Morningside College, Dr. Carolyn Leman, community volunteer, Dr. Thomas Padgett, community volunteer, Peter Thoreen, St. Luke’s Iowa Health System and Corey Wrenn, Pecaut and Co.

Sunrise served the needs of nearly 300 seniors residing on its campus during its 2010 fiscal year. Sunrise provided over $939,000 in benevolent care and unreimbursed Medicaid/Medicare resident services.

Sunrise is the largest and most comprehensive retirement community in Siouxland. As a community-based, not-for-profit community serving seniors, it provides the entire continuum of care, from independent living to specialized memory care for individuals with Alzheimer's and related disorders.
