Designed especially for the care and treatment of residents with dementia-related disorders, the Sunlight and Bernstein Centers offer a non-restrictive, homelike environment separated from the general Health Center population. The relaxed atmosphere is conducive to family visits and informal gatherings.
Sunrise's Sunlight and Bernstein Centers opened as the first memory care centers in Siouxland. Its establishment represents the leadership role Sunrise has played in senior services in Siouxland. We provide hope, encouragement and an innovative licensed approach to serving individuals with dementia-related disorders. The individual's health and dignity are maintained through:
- A competent and caring staff of professionals
- Planned activities for individuals and groups
- Reminiscent/Memory therapy
- Music therapy
- Gussie's Garden - a lovely and secure outdoor environment
- Social services, including individual and/or family counseling

Sunlight and Bernstein Centers
- 24-hour professional nursing staff.
- Medication administration by licensed nursing personnel.
- Supervised diet.
- Two assisted whirlpool baths weekly.
- Physical therapy for rehabilitation or health enhancement.

- Management of partial incontinence care.
