Sunrise Retirement Community has acquired a collie/shepherd/chow mix female dog for residents in our Silver Maple neighborhood which houses our Alzheimer/Dementia memory care community. Her name is Mama and she has quickly become a favorite of the resident’s, their families and the staff. Mama’s original owner is very ill and wanted her to be placed with elderly people as that is who she had spent time around. Mama was given a temperament evaluation and passed with flying colors after she came to visit Sunrise. Since her arrival, Mama makes the rounds of the nursing floors in the morning and then throughout the day to visits residents in other areas. She lives in the Bernstein Center where she has access to her food, water, bed and the outdoors. Mama’s job is to walk around bringing smiles and joy to the people she meets daily. The response from the residents has been wonderful. Residents and visitors tell us stories about pets they have had in their lives and the memories they had as well as the joy those pets have brought. Stop by Sunrise and meet Mama! |

Easter Egg Hunt Saturday, March 22nd, Begins at 10:00am
Please register children’s names by the Main Dining Room according to their ages. ~ Children up to 3 years will hunt in Center Courtyard.
Children 4-6 yrs. will hunt in Gussie’s Garden.
Children 7-9 yrs. hunt throughout the Sunrise Hills’ neighborhood. (weather permitting) |
